Kahvia - Paulig Data Dashboard

JunctionHackathon, 2020

Experience

Kahvia was built as part of a hackathon challenge and earned a placement as first runner up. The Paulig Group asked participants to create a data dashboard for their buyers. The aim was to create an experience that increased interaction with the brand but also created value for both Paulig and buyers. Additionally, Paulig wanted to get inspiration on what 3rd party data could be used to enhance the data. Our solution was to pull in a relevant newsfeed on both the coffee industry and the area in which the buyer was operating in. We also created a “scheduler” which allowed buyers to team up on deliveries to save money and the environment.

Experience

Nexxus is a Unilever owned brand selling hair products. This site was a finalist in the Netlify Jammies Awards 2020. The project length was 6 months and was carried out by a team of 3-4 developers. We had previously done a proof of concept for TRESemmé using a similar stack, which meant that we carried over a lot of learnings from the previous project. The focus was to achieve as high performance as possible while also delivering a nice consumer experience. We used a static site generator called Gridsome with Vue coupled with the headless CMS Sanity to reach this goal. This combination is one of my favorite setups so far. Initially, I started out building mostly frontend components, however, over the course of the project I took on more responsibilities and ended up covering CMS structure, third party integrations and serverless services.

Experience

Ankkuri Morning Routine is a combined voice and web application built under 48 hours at a hackathon in Helsinki, Finland. The challenge was to create something that helped teens and young adults to transition to adult life and prevent anxiety and depression. Our solution was Ankkuri – a morning routine customizable through the web app and carried out by the Alexa voice app. My responsibilities covered mainly the architecture. Connecting the AWS Cognito user base with the React frontent, the lambda functions, Dynamo DB and Alexa voice journeys.
